The Beginning

Elos Medtech was born as “Aktiebolaget Götene Träindustri” on June 9th 1923. The history of our company started in the wood industry, repairing forestry equipment deep in the heart of Sweden.

In 1975, we collaborated with Professor Per-Ingvar Brånemark on a project to develop osseointegration and manufactured the first dental implant for Brånemark.

Listing on NASDAQ Stockholm
Listing on NASDAQ Stockholm

In 1989, the former Aktiebolaget Götene – now called Westergyllen – enters the Nasdaq OMX Stockholm stock exchange in Sweden, to collect funding for growth and acquisitions.

The first important acquisition by Westergyllen is Elos AB, paving the way for increased focus on the healthcare area as contract manufacturer.

To reinforce the expertise and capability in precision manufacturing, Westergyllen acquires the Danish Pinol A/S in 2005 to complement Elos Medtech’s operations.
