The Beginning
The Beginning

Aktiebolaget Götene – Träindustri was born on June the 9th 1923. The history of our company started in the wood industry, repairing forestry equipment in a remote corner of Sweden.

Ground-breaking Innovation: Osseointegration
Ground-breaking Innovation: Osseointegration

In 1975, we collaborated with Professor Per-Ingvar Brånemark on a project to develop osseointegration and manufactured the first dental implant for Brånemark.

1989
The listing on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm
The listing on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm

After several name changes, in 1989 the former Aktiebolaget Götene now called Westergyllen enters the Nasdaq OMX Stockholm stock exchange in Sweden to collect funding for growth and acquisitions.

1992
Acquisition of the Timmersdala facility
Acquisition of the Timmersdala facility

The first important acquisition by Westergyllen is Elos AB, paving the way for increased focus on the healthcare area as contract manufacturer.

2005
Acquisition of Pinol A/S
Acquisition of Pinol A/S

To reinforce the expertise and capability in precision manufacturing, Westergyllen acquires the Danish Pinol A/S in 2005 to complement Elos Medtech’s operations. Expanding a cooperation with Novo Nordisk started in 1985 for the development and production of mechanical components, Elos signs a new agreement to participate in the creation of a new facility in Tianjin, China. As a completion of the direction started 50 years before the executive board finalised the divestment of the metrology division, fully focussing on medical device and medical technology.
